Description

The Old Church and Burial-Ground at Keig dates to the 17th century. It is a roofless rectangular building constructed of rubble stone, with straight, skewed walls and wide skewputs. There is no bellcote. An unusual west-facing window is narrower than expected, featuring a transom. The south flank has three windows, with doors between them, the centre window being slightly higher than the others. A small, square fontbowl is also present. A monument to James, 16th Lord Forbes, is located on the east wall. The churchyard contains 18th-century stones. Historically, a bell was hung from a tree.
