Description
The Gordon Schools, located on Castle Road in Huntly, were designed by Archibald Simpson between 1839 and 1841, with later additions by A. Marshall Mackenzie of Matthews and Mackenzie in 1888 that complement the original design. The building features a symmetrical Jacobean style and is two stories high. It is constructed from ashlar stone and has a central pend arch along with an ogee-capped octagonal tower. A bell made by Mears was added in 1840.
