Description
This is an early to mid-19th century steading, or farm complex. It is primarily rubble-built with ashlar stone details. The main range features three segmentally arched cartsheds, although evidence suggests there were originally more, as it has been altered by an addition set at a right angle. One side of the main range has cartsheds, while the other side has a pyramid-roofed, square-plan outshot; this outshot incorporates a raised door within a piended dormerhead. An anvil stands on a stand outside the steading. Further single-storey and single-storey-and-loft barns, and cattlesheds are also part of the complex. The roofs are mainly slated, although some sections are covered with asbestos.
