Description

Rathen West Parish Church was built by William Smith between 1868 and 1870. It is designed in the Early English style and features a six-bay rectangular layout with a southwest tower topped by a stone broach spire. The western front is made of grey granite with red pinnings, while the flanks are constructed from a mix of grey and red granite, accented with freestone dressings. The voussoirs are alternately black and red. The church houses a bell made by John Warner in 1873.
