Riversfield, 6 Castle Road, Ellon

Riversfield, located at 6 Castle Road in Ellon, is likely a late 18th century building that was enlarged in 1826, possibly with the addition of the west wing. Further modifications were made by D. MacAndrew in 1860. The structure is two stories high, harled with granite margins, and the original house runs in a north-south direction. It features a semi-octagonal south gable and a bow-ended wing at the northwest. There is an anta porch with a Greek Doric column door-piece at the angle, and the northeast wing also has a bow. The center of the north gable has a prominent bow, and the gable displays an interesting treatment with wide eaves. Slim ball-capped gatepiers are present at the road.
