Description

Leslie Castle is an L-plan tower house dated 1661, now ruinous. The building is roofless and originally comprised three storeys and a garret. It is constructed of random rubble. A square tower is located in the re-entrant angle, with turrets positioned at the corners of the castle. The interior is filled with debris and the floors are absent. The castle was built for William Forbes on the site of the earlier Castle of Leslies of Leslie. Following Forbes' death in 1670, the castle passed to the Leiths of Leith Hall. The castle was descheduled on 4th September 1989.
