Description
The Se Block, located in the rear wing of 22-23 The Square in Huntly, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is a two-storey building with a later pronounced mansard attic and features four bays. The facade is made of regularly coursed dressed granite, with rubble granite on the flanks and rear. The entrance includes a corniced and lugged architraved doorpiece, which is flanked by early shop windows and a depressed, keystoned arch leading to the pend on the west side. On the first floor, there are four narrow symmetrical windows with four-pane sashes. The mansard roof has two modern dormers, and there are end stacks. At the rear, there is a long two-storey wing with ten bays, accessible through the pend.
