Description
The Telephone Exchange at 27-35 Bon Accord Street in Aberdeen was designed by Leonard Stokes and built between 1908 and 1909. This three-storey building showcases a Renaissance style influenced by the Modern Movement, constructed from red and grey ashlar stone. The façade features a nine-bay layout, with narrow entrance bays at the center and ends, each topped with flat arches. The three central bays have large ground floor arches with a cavetto splay. Above, there are two windows per bay, and a boldly projecting cornice extends over the first floor, while there is no cornice at the top.
