Description
The College of Further Education, located on New Inn Hall Street, was built in 1845 and later extended in 1901 by architect Leonard Stokes. The building has a half-H shape with wings that project towards the street, creating a distinctive frontage. It is constructed of stone-faced red brick and features quoins. The wings include ground floor doors with fanlights above and rusticated architraves, along with 3-light mullioned windows above. The central section has nine 2-light mullion and transom windows on the ground floor, which are positioned closely together, and above them are three 4-light mullioned windows. The building is topped with a parapet that has a stone roof and a wooden bell cupola.
