Description

The Former Porter's Lodge of the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, built between 1887 and 1897 by W & J Smith and Kelly with H Saxon Snell as a consultant, is a single-storey, square-plan neo-classical building. It is part of a significant 19th-century hospital complex located in the city centre of Aberdeen. The structure is made of channelled granite and features a base course, a moulded eaves course, and a blocking course above. The entrance is located on the north elevation and consists of two-leaf timber and glazed doors, accompanied by a four-pane rectangular fanlight. The building also has some block openings and timber sash and case windows with six-pane glazing.
