Description
St John's Well, located on Skene Row in Skene Street, Aberdeen, was rebuilt in 1852. It is a U-plan structure made of granite ashlar, featuring seats that step down from a coped rear wall. There is a low step surrounding a flagstone base, and a recessed panel in the back wall contains a tap that is backed by a Maltese cross. Above this, there is a tooled lintel that reads "SANCTI JOANNIS FONS AB OPERUM PUBLICORUM CURATORIBUS REFECTUS A. D. M D CCCLII".
