Description
Mid 19th century, 22-bay terrace comprising 3-bay and 4-bay 2-storey and attic houses, of tooled coursed grey granite ashlar finely finished to margins. Base course; projecting cills; pilastered doorways corniced with consoles, panelled timber doors with letterbox fanlights; eaves course; canted dormers to attic floor.
N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: No 3: 4-bay, asymmetrical, doorway to penultimate bay to left at ground floor, regular fenestration to remainder of ground and 1st floors, 2 dormers to attic; Nos 5, 7, 13 and 15: 3-bay, doorway to bay to left (No 13 in bay to right) at ground floor, regular fenestration to remaining bays of ground and 1st floors, 2 dormers to attic floor of Nos 5 and 7, single dormer to attic of number 13 and 15; Nos 9 and 11: doorway to centre of ground floor, window to each flanking bay, regular fenestration to 1st floor, 2 dormers to attic floor.
W ELEVATION: obscured by adjoining terrace (see separate listing).
S ELEVATION: irregular door and window arrangements to ground and 1st floors; predominantly canted dormers to attic floor, some modern rectangular dormers.
E ELEVATION: gabled; small square opening off-centre to left of ground floor.
Predominantly 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof with lead ridge. Coped stone skews with blocked skewputts. Coped granite gablehead and ridge stacks with circular and octagonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
INTERIORS: not seen 1999.
GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALLS: low granite coped walls to N, with square-plan piers and gatepiers with pyramidal caps, some railings; brick coped rubble walls dividing N gardens and to rear.
