Description

Single storey gabled vernacular farm house of pre 1834 construction, now vacant. The property is set at the end of a long lane to the S of Ardglass Road, roughly 1½ miles SE of Downpatrick. The asymmetrical front façade faces N. To right of centre is the timber panelled door which has a simple geometrical surround. To the left are two window openings of differing size and with surrounds as doorway. Both these openings, and all others, are boarded over. To the right of the doorway is another window opening. The E and W gables each have a single window opening. To the left of centre at the rear is a lean-to with timber sheeted lean-to to W face and two small window openings. To left of the lean-to (to rear façade of main house) are three window openings. The entire façade is finished in unpainted rough cast. The roof is slated with rendered parapets and has three rendered chimney stacks. Cast iron rw goods. Concrete covered farm yard to rear with mainly single storey rough cast finished outbuildings.
