Description

Long single storey gabled house of c.1860s, lengthened in c.1890 and much extended to the rear in the 1990s. The property is set to the NE side of the Bryansford Road, just S of Bryansford village, c.1.5 miles NW of Newcastle. The long original single storey portion to front (SW) façade is asymmetrical with a modern door roughly to centre, set under a porch hood. To the left and to the right of the door are two windows with modern frames. To the NW gable there is a small canted oriel window (with hipped roof), with a window (as front) to the upper floor. The SE gable appears to be blank. The rear has had massive modern extensions added in recent years and little can be seen of the original façade, bar a portion to the far left, where there are two windows, as front. The original section is finished in rough cast with smooth render surround to front windows. The façade is painted. The roof is gabled and has a slight overhang with plain barges. It has natural slates to front and artificial to the rear. Two Velux windows to front. Two, centred, rendered chimney stacks. PVC rw goods.
