6 Wood Road, Killevy, Co Armagh, BT35 8DG

This is a rectangular, one-and-a-half storey gate lodge, originally serving Hawthorn Hill (HB16/15/002A) and situated at the foot of Slieve Gullion in the townland of Annahaia. The lodge dates from between 1860 and 1873, appearing in the Valuation Revision book entry for that year. The building has been significantly altered and extended, and is now of limited architectural interest.

The pitched roof is covered in natural slate, with a raised flat section to the rear and a central brick chimneystack. Overhanging boxed eaves support half-round plastic rainwater goods. The principal elevation faces east and is constructed of coursed granite rubble with dressed granite lintels and cills above the modern uPVC top-hung casement windows. The central window was originally the entrance door. A window is visible in the left gable to the upper floor, and to each floor of the left return. A single-storey annex abuts the left gable. The rear elevation is completely abutted by a modern two-storey return, with an annex also on the ground floor, both of which are of no particular interest. The right gable has a window to the upper floor and a modern glazed timber entrance door to the rear return. The rear elevation is cement dashed.

The building was formerly, and remains, in use as a gate lodge. It is currently owned by the police.
