Non-subscribing Manse, Monaghan Row, Newry, Co Down

This was a two-storey house, likely built between 1860 and 1879, located on Monaghan Row, Newry, County Down. The house had a slated roof and rendered walls, with raised quoins. A two-storey porch flanked the front elevation, accompanied by single-storey bays to the front and a crenellated bay to one side. The porch entrance was framed by moulded pilasters rising to an entablature and blocking course, all constructed of granite. Patterned glazing bars were present in the porch and frontal bays. A single-storey bay was added to the side, after 1861. The main frontage measured approximately 40 feet. The building was originally recorded on an HMBB survey card in 1969 and was noted to be in very poor condition. It has since been demolished. The building's former use was as a rectory or manse.
