Description

Description on 08.08.2007 Cast iron water fountain with an octoganal base and a fluted column. It also hs a fluted domical cap and a lions head spout. To one side is a knurled handle and on the other is a capped hydrant. This is a larger and more sturdy design that the other fountains recorded. There is a cast inscription which reads ____FIELD KILMARNOCK. This refers to Glenfield and Kennedy the company who manufactured all of the similar pumps in N Ireland. The fountain is now situated in the Silent Vallety close to the reservoir and to listed buildngs associated with the water supply.
