Lodge to Rosetta, 49 Rostrevor Road, Warrenpoint, Newry, Co Down, BT34 3RT

This is a small, single-storey, two-bay lodge located on the seaward side of Rostrevor Road, at the entrance to Rosetta. Built around the mid-19th century, likely between 1840 and 1859, it appears on the 1859 Ordnance Survey map and was probably constructed when Rosetta House was extended in the 1850s. The lodge has been extensively refurbished and retains no original fabric. It features a pyramidal roof covered in natural slate, with modern boxed timber eaves and half-round metal gutters. A modern, cement-rendered chimney sits on the seaward (south) pitch. The walls are dry-dashed. The east-facing elevation includes a small gabled windbreak porch that shares the main roof eaves, a modern glazed timber door, and a pair of reproduction 1/1 sash windows on either side. To the left and right of the porch are further reproduction 1/1 sash windows. The south elevation has a pair of modern single-paned French windows on the left and a single sash window on the right, distributed across the two bays. The west elevation presents three 1/1 sash windows. The north elevation is recessed under the roof on the right and contains a single 1/1 sash window on the left. There is no garden. The lodge is situated close to the sea wall on an exposed site, positioned at the gates to Rosetta House. It was previously used as gates and screens and now retains that function. It was delisted on 1st August 1986.
