Description

A 3 bay wide, 3 storey house with shopfront and basement, gabled with slated roof. The elevation to High Street has shopfront with central shop door, framed with upper glazed panel and plain fanlight over. Large single pane display windows on each side with plaster panel under and a simple painted name fascia which extends over the house door. Narrow thin pilasters frame doors and windows. House door, panelled with fanlight. At 1st floor, 12 pane double hung sliding sashS windows and at 2nd floor 6 pane double hung sliding sash windows directly over those below. Painted cills. Walls smooth rendered and painted with quoins. ½ round metal gutter, single downpipe, natural slated roof. Gable chimney stack. There is a narrow basement area to the front of the house, 2 bays long, with 2, 4 pane double hung sliding sash windows. The area is protected with flat iron grills. To the rear a short 2 storey flat roof back return in line with entrance hall which has an open area under 1st floor with single margined glazed double hung sliding sash window. Walls roughtcast rendered unpainted. The back wall of main house has single 16 pane double hung sliding sash windows at each level including basement with 6 pane double hung sliding sash at 2nd floor. Over flat roof of back return an arched 16 pane double hung sliding sashwindow to stairway. Walls smooth rendered, unpainted, ½ round metal gutter, single downpipe, natural slated roof. Steps lead down to small basement area protected by metal railing. To the rear of the small yard outbuildings. No 10/12 High Street is at the S end of terrace of 5 houses which observe the building line of buildings No.s 2 to 8. Nos 10/12 and 14/16 are 3 storeys while the remainder are 2.
