Description
A large rectangular farmyard enclosed by wall with 3 buildings against or forming part of the enclosure. 2 buildings 5 bays long, 1, 7 bays long, with lean-to roofs. The 1st building at the NW corner, 5 bays long, 1½ storeys, long wall overlooking farmyard has a central sheeted door, square headed and on each side 2, double hung sliding sash 4 pane windows, gable within yard has adouble hung sliding sash 4 pane window high up to attic. Other wall looking outwards, has large sliding door in long wall and a double hung sliding sash 4 pane window in gable. Walls to farmyard, harled and painted white, other walls random rubble stonework with brick trim to openings. ½ round gutters, single downpipe to each gutter, roof natural slated. Along the NE wall a 7 bay piggery which abuts the previous building. Wall overlooking farmyard has 7 arched low doorways, evenly spaced except end opening. Wall harled and painted white with black plinth. Roof lean-to, natural slates. Exposed gable to yard random rubble unpainted, likewise long wall to field beyond. Along the SE wall, separates farmyard from walled garden, a 5 bay stable with 5 no. segmental headed openings, wall harled and painted white, black plinth, both gables random rubble stonework unpainted, lean-to roof, natural slates, ½ round gutter, single downpipe. The Barn (see HB09/06/024C) encloses the farmyard on the SE side. A kinked random rubble wall joins it to the stable block and has a gated opening in it leading to path and house. There are 2 large gateways into the farmyard, one at the W corner adjacent to the barn and the other at the end corner leading to the fields. Each gateway has tall round pillars in random rubble with flat conical to and wrot iron gates. In front of piggery a cast iron pump, handle, manufactured by Magee of Belfast. The farmyard is at the NE extremity of the estate buildings and encloses an area of approximately 0.24 hectares.
