St Patrick's Primary School, built between 1960 and 1979, is an interesting and visually pleasing example of a 1970s primary school designed around a cluster plan. This layout minimizes circulation space and creates a more intimate scale.

The school comprises five classrooms arranged on a cluster layout, along with an assembly hall and meals accommodation. The design incorporates a mix of pyramidal and flat roofs, all single-storey and built with brick facing. The individual elements are clearly defined externally; classrooms are distinguished by their pyramidal roofs, the assembly hall by its greater height and geometric proportions, and the ancillary accommodation by its lower roof line and flat roofs. This arrangement provides a welcoming, intimate scale intended to avoid intimidating young pupils, and creates varied visual interest around the building. The walls are constructed of rustic brick, with small window units except in the assembly hall, which uses smaller glazing units to create a suitable atmosphere. The flat roofs have low, solid parapets, while the concrete tiled pyramidal roofs have timber fascias with applied gutters. The school is situated on a sloping site to the south of Springhill Road, integrating well with its surroundings, which include paved play areas, car parking, and grass areas. It replaced an earlier school located on Circular Road.
