Stonyhill Cottage, 14 Ballymena Road, Carnlough, Ballymena, Co Antrim, BT44 0HT

Stonyhill Cottage is a mid-19th century house, likely built between 1840 and 1859, situated at the edge of Carnlough, overlooking the sea. It is a building of limited original architectural merit and has lost several original features.

The house is a one-and-a-half storey structure with three bays and a projecting flat-roofed porch. The main entrance faces east. The front roof is now covered with modern concrete tiles, featuring three swept dormers. The walls are rendered, lined, and blocked, with quoins at the edges. Flanking the porch are canted flat-roofed bays, with timber sash windows featuring a 1 over 1 arrangement and horns, though some have margins only. Dormer windows have modern timber fixed lights, casements, and vents. The porch contains twin entrances, each with a modern glazed and panelled door incorporating a radial fanlight. Other elevations have similar materials and sash windows with 6 over 6 and 3 over 3 panes, and horns. The building stands on a slightly elevated site and faces the main road, set well back within its own grounds, with fields to the front and sides. It appears on the Ordnance Survey map of 1857.
