The pump, dating from between 1920 and 1939, stands in a prominent position opposite 316 Coast Road, Ballygalley, Larne, County Antrim. It is of a standard design by Glenfield and Kennedy, featuring a plian-shaped, fluted column and a fluted cap topped with an acorn finial. The pump has group value with other water fountains in Ballygalley and serves as an important reminder of a time when drinking water was sourced from public facilities. It is of industrial archaeological interest, noted for its style, proportions, ornamentation, setting, and local significance, as well as its social, cultural, and economic importance.
