Bridge at Old Mill, Millvale, Ballygalley, Larne, Co Antrim

This is an 18th-century bridge, likely constructed between 1780 and 1799, located at Old Mill, Ballygalley, near Larne in County Antrim. It is a single, hump-backed arched bridge spanning a stream, built of rubble stone. A roughly finished projecting band of stone runs along the top of the bridge above the arch. The parapets are topped with cement copings, featuring angled returns at the ends. A later segmental brick arch has been added at the north end on the east side, presumably to allow for surface water drainage. The bridge is shown on the first Ordnance Survey map of 1833. It has some industrial archaeological interest and stands in the center of a small hamlet within a rural setting.
