Bridge over Carnanransy Burn, Gorticashel Road, Omagh, Co.Tyrone, BT79 7SB

This is a single-span stone road-over-river bridge built circa 1850, carrying Gorticashel Road over the Carnanransy Burn. The bridge is considered a visible piece of nineteenth-century industrial heritage and is part of a series of bridges that represent a significant remnant of a historical route within the district, although other examples of similar bridges are considered to be of greater significance.

The bridge features rock-faced ashlar spandrels, parapets and wing abutments with a stringcourse at the base of the parapets. A round-headed arch, sprung from the abutments, is constructed with rock-faced voussoirs and has a cement-rendered soffit. The single-carriageway bridge is tarmac paved and spans a narrow creek, flanked by grassy embankments and some mature trees to the west. The bridge's stonework is supplemented with render.

A crossing point over the river is visible on the 1833 Ordnance Survey map, but the current bridge’s style dates it to circa 1850. It is not specifically labelled on any of the four editions of the Ordnance Survey maps.
