Carrick Mills, Terrydremont North, Limavady, Co Londonderry, BT49 9EY

This is a small former flax mill of local interest, representing a piece of industrial heritage and a historical remnant of a significant local industry. Constructed between 1800 and 1819, it faces almost due west and runs parallel to the River Roe, forming part of the larger Carrick Mills complex (reference HB02/08/033A).

The building is a single-story structure with three structural bays. It has six openings irregularly spaced along its main facade: two window openings (without windows) to the north, followed by a door, then two window openings, and finally another door. The building is currently undergoing renovation, and the roof structure has been removed. A bricked-up opening is present on the south gable. An overflow mill race runs under a small stone bridge nearby. Dense undergrowth obscures the north gable, where the site of the former wheel and remnants of the mill race are visible. A pond is located behind the building, also largely hidden by undergrowth.

The building is shown on the Ordnance Survey Map of 1830. According to the Ordnance Survey Memoirs of 1835-37, the complex originally comprised a bleach mill which was converted to a flax mill around 1830. It is first identified as a flax mill on the Ordnance Survey Map of 1848. The mill appears to have been in operation until the early 20th century.
