Plantation Lodge, 253 Seacoast Road, Bellarena, Limavady, Co Londonderry, BT49 0JX

Plantation Lodge is a former gate lodge, situated on the north and east side of Seacoast Road, originally serving the Bellarena Estate. Built between 1820 and 1839, likely during the occupancy of Conolly Gage, the lodge is a single-storey, three-bay building on its entrance facade. The front features a central doorway flanked by windows; each window is a 12-pane sliding sash with white-painted plaster reveals. The side walls extend for two bays, resulting in a plan shape that is not quite square. The building has hipped roofs finished with a short ridge and a central chimney.

The lodge has been extended to the rear by two bays and is now slightly narrower than the original structure. It is constructed of reused local bricks, which retain traces of their original mortar. The roofs are slated with Bangor blue slates and feature ridge and hip tiles. The entrance is accessed by three circular steps, and the building showcases a white-painted fascia board, black guttering, and downpipes. The doors and windows are painted white. The original design included an accentuated eaves overhang supported by timber posts, which remain in place. Subsequent alterations have simplified the building's appearance. The surrounding setting has been considerably changed over time.
