Description

Tyrone House, located at 83 Malone Road, Belfast, dates to 1870. It was originally the home of Thomas Lindsay, of Lindsay & Co, general drapers. The house is a large building in the Italianate style, constructed with stucco. A boundary wall made of basalt runs along Malone Road and Cadogan Park. The original house has since been significantly altered and is now largely subsumed within modern extensions, which have resulted in a loss of historic fabric. The surrounding setting has also been considerably changed. Tyrone House lies within the Malone Lower townland and is situated within a conservation area. It is recorded as a Grade D1 Record Only and is not listed.
