Description
Annahugh House is a house situated on the Red Lion Road, near Loughgall in County Armagh. Although the precise date of its construction is unknown, a building is depicted on the Ordnance Survey map of 1835, positioned parallel to the then-existing public road. The 1860 Ordnance Survey map shows that the road was diverted at an angle, with the house set well back from the new road alignment. It is likely that the house dates from the 18th century and was built up over time. One of the associated farm buildings bears a datestone indicating it was rebuilt in 1865. The house was occupied by the McClelland family from at least the 1860s, initially as tenants, and later as owners, until approximately 1985.
