Description
The main house is situated a short distance to the west of the Diamond crossroads, site of the battle that took place in 1795 resulting in the founding of the Orange Order. The Diamond lies about five miles to the south of Junction 13 of the M1 Motorway travelling in a south-easterly direction towards Kilmore and Stonebridge. The buildings that form part of the farm enclose the yard on the north-west side. They comprise two compartments with former use as a stable and a byre. A single storey block with corrugated iron covered roof, metal rainwater goods, with the gutter on drive-in hooks at the front and with a plastic gutter at the rear. The walls are roughcast at the front and at the sides with plain bases and the plastered finish at the rear has become detached in places revealing the stone construction with mud construction above. The door that gives access to the stable is of a single timber ledged and sheeted variety extending about three-quarters in height. The double doors of similar construction to the byre are full height. A timber sheeted door at the rear of the byre is faced externally with galvanised steel sheeting
