Former gate lodge, 16 Lissheffield Road, Loughgall, Armagh, Co Armagh, BT61 8QB

The building is a single-storey, L-shaped house, likely dating between 1840 and 1859. A building is shown on Ordnance Survey maps from 1834 and 1860 at this location, although it was not marked as a lodge until the 1908 Ordnance Survey map. The present house represents a rebuilding and enlargement of the earlier structure, resulting in the loss of its original features. The main entrance faces north-east. The roofs are slated, with plain timber bargeboards replacing the original decorative bargeboards. The walls are rendered with a wet-dash finish on a smooth rendered plinth. Windows are modern, rectangular fixed lights with side-hung casements and top-hung vents. A canted bay window is located on the north-east entrance front. A single chimney sits on the rear wall of the rear return, replacing original brick chimneys on the main block. The building stands in a rural area, with its side elevation, originally the front elevation, facing the road and set back slightly behind a flower bed. A lawn is present to the front entrance, and there is a tarmac yard to the rear.
