Description
Two storey/ three bay house in mature garden on W side of Banbridge Road. Main elevation faces E. Pitched natural slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles and rendered skews. Painted, rendered and coped chimney to each gable. Metal rainwater goods and downpipe to right end of façade. Walls are line rendered and painted, with stepped V-channelled stucco quoins. Ground floor central bay has projecting flat-headed porch containing main entrance. It has a flat asphalt roof. Walls have a chamfered basecourse supporting stucco pilasters to each side of each face. They have moulded heads and support a plain frieze and moulded stucco cornice. Main entrance is on right cheek and is set within a stop-end chamfered opening. Door is four panelled, with two raised, fielded and bolection moulded bottom and two glazed top panels. Cast-iron door furniture. Front and left cheeks of porch each contain a single 2/2 sliding sash window with horns and painted granite cill. On each remaining bay of front elevation is a similar but larger window other windows are same unless otherwise stated. Left and right gables of main block are blank. Rear elevation is abutted to centre by a two storey return with pitched artificial slate roof tied into rear pitch of main block. Walls as façade but without quoins. Ground floor left has a sheeted t +g door with plain transom; above is a single first floor window. Ground floor right has a window opening which has been partially infilled and inset with a modern casement window. Above at first floor is a modern casement window in an original opening. Extension has following at ground floor: left cheek has a modern sheeted and glazed door, rear wall has a large modern casement window (landscape and without cill) and right cheek is blank. At first floor there is a small modern casement window on each cheek. To rear, parallel with house, is a two storey rubble granite outbuilding with pitched natural slate roof and brick dressings to openings. Some ground floor openings are blocked up and there are pairs of narrow casement windows to first floor. Building is set within mature garden with serpentine drive and a large monkey puzzle tree.
