Description

This was a mid-nineteenth century school building situated within the grounds of St Patrick’s Church on Dromore Street in Banbridge, County Down. The building has now been demolished. The First Survey card records that the school was originally single-storey with a slated roof and rendered walls. It had decorated bargeboards to its porches and a frontage of 80 feet. A datestone inscribed 'U.A.H.S. Banbridge 1969' indicated construction phases in 1858 and 1876, presumably relating to a later two-storey addition.
