Site of house, Drumgor Lane, Off Drumgor West Road, Drumgor, Craigavon, County Armagh

The site of an 1820 to 1839 vernacular house stands to the southeast side of Drumgor Lane, off Drumgor West Road, southwest of Drumgor (Craigavon), County Armagh. The house was demolished after 1972 and nothing remains, with no visible ground evidence of its former presence.

A survey in January 1972 described the house as a single-storey cottage with a lower extension to the southwest side. The main roof was thatched, with rendered gable end chimneystacks. The walls were rendered and whitened, featuring four drop-hung sash windows with vertical astragals, a central sheeted door, and an extension with a corrugated-iron roof, gabled end and rubble walls. A front flower garden was also present. The roof was reported to be in poor condition. The front elevation measured approximately 76 feet.

An 1835 Ordnance Survey map shows a building corresponding to the main section of the house recorded in 1972, though it was not documented in contemporary valuations. A valuation from 1861 identifies the property as a single-storey dwelling occupied by Jane Lynas, with William Mather's representatives as the immediate lessor, and a rateable value of £1-10-0. In 1883, a “small new office” was noted, potentially corresponding to the extension. James McNab jnr. occupied the house between 1881 and 1918, and it remained with his representatives until at least 1929.
