Myrtle Villa, 28 Bridge Road, Helen’s Bay, Co Down

Myrtle Villa was a two-story house, likely dating to the late 19th century, located at 28 Bridge Road, Helen’s Bay, Co Down. The property has since been demolished, and an apartment block now occupies the site. The original house had a slated roof with decorative bargeboards and twin corbelled eaves. The exterior walls were rendered, lined, and painted. It featured five first-floor and first-floor windows, lacking astrays but with moulded architraves and blocked corners. A sill course ran along the façade. Two single-story, segmental, curved bay windows were present, each with a flat roof, blocking course, and dentilled cornice, featuring pilaster mullions on their sides. The central doorway was framed by two Doric columns, a segmental curve to the lintel frieze, and a dentilled cornice; above the panelled door was a plain fanlight within a segmental arch. The building was approximately 30 feet wide. The chimneys were rendered and marked.
