[Derelict] Cottage, Off Belfast Road, Ballyrogan, Newtownards, Co Down, BT23

The remains of a derelict, one-and-a-half-story gabled house stand at the end of a lane south of the Belfast Road, approximately one mile northwest of Newtownards. It was likely originally built in the 1840s, but underwent significant renovations during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. The building now features a gabled porch to the front facade and paired window openings (without frames). It is in very poor condition, largely open to the elements, and heavily overgrown. An Ordnance Survey map from 1858-60 shows a building on this site, and primary sources including Ordnance Survey Maps and Griffith’s Valuation records from 1863 confirm its presence in the townland of Ballyrogan. The house is currently derelict and in private ownership.
