Bridge over Clady Water, Printshop Road, Nutts Corner, Crumlin, Co Antrim

This is a twin-arched masonry bridge dating to at least the early 19th century, likely between 1800 and 1819. Constructed of basalt rubble with rough stone voussoirs forming segmental arches, the bridge carries a road over the Clady Water. The piers are faced with triangular cutwaters on each face, and the riverbank copings are rounded and cement-rendered with rough stone copings beyond. A recessed arch and spandrel panel is present, and the carriageway has a slight hump, flanked by grassy verges. A long approach wall extends southwards from the east end, containing a segmental archway to allow floodwater passage. The cutwater on the north side has been capped with concrete, supporting a services pipe across the face of the arches. The bridge is situated in a rural landscape of rolling agricultural land with grassy banks and mature trees. A new basalt rubble screen wall abuts the north-side parapet at the west end, marking a new entrance gateway to a nearby property. The bridge appears on the Ordnance Survey map of 1833 and holds some industrial archaeological interest, although it does not possess specific architectural or historical significance.
