Description
The Combined Non-conformist and Anglican Mortuary Chapels, located in the cemetery, were built in the late 19th century. They are constructed from coursed and squared rubble with a slate roof featuring a crested ridge, and include freestone dressings and some ashlar. The chapels are designed in a decorated style with a symmetrical frontage consisting of three bays. The left bay features a tower with angle buttresses, a parapet adorned with blind quatrefoils, corner pinnacles, and a recessed stone spire. It also has two-light traceried windows in the bell-chamber, which includes louvres. The central bay is single-storeyed with paired windows that have shafting. The right bay projects under a front-facing gable with a coped verge topped by a cruciform finial. To the left, there is an ashlar turret that springs from the angle buttresses and has a spirelet. The door opening is in a shafted pointed arch stone surround, with paired plank doors that feature medieval-style iron hinges, and above it is a rose window. The interiors are simple.
