Description
Hallgate is a house built around 1835, likely designed by Richard Carver. It features a roughcast exterior and a pantile roof, complemented by decorative barge boards. The building has diagonal brick chimneys at the gable ends and to the left of the entrance. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The sash windows, which include glazing bars, are set in full height splayed bays that have their own roofs. The ground floor windows are topped with square headed hood moulds. The entrance, located in the outer bay on the right, consists of double doors with a four-centred arch head and a hood mould above. This entrance is framed by a rendered, pedimented surround with pilasters that also feature pediments.
