Description
Nos 10, 10A, and 10B on High Street is a notable three-storey, five-window red brick house from the 18th century, set back from the road. Around 1910, shops were constructed over the front garden, although the upper part of the original facade remains intact. This facade features rusticated quoins and an eaves cornice. The central windows are adorned with stone architraves and keystones, with the first-floor window having a cornice. The rear of the building has three storeys and four windows, with a gabled centre that projects forward. The interior has been altered, and there are three shop fronts that feature an unusual semi-circular motif in their balustrades. Nos 6 to 10 (even), 10A and 10B, along with Nos 12 to 18 (even) and the Friends' Meeting House, form a cohesive group.
