Description

The limekiln, now disused, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from random rubble chert and dressed Whitestaunton stone, featuring a standard plan set into the hillside. The parapet, made of dressed stone, is damaged on the west side and was partly obscured by vegetation during the survey in November 1985. Below the parapet are two relieving arches of decreasing size, along with a small square opening and a brick lintel leading to the stoke hole. Additionally, there are small square openings in the curving abutment walls.
