Description
The stone at the entrance to Gaundle Farm, likely serving as a direction stone to Montacute House, dates from the 13th century. It is made of Ham stone, measuring approximately 550 millimeters wide and 1200 millimeters high, and is set into the boundary wall. The stone features a segmental arched head and shows traces of an ornamental border about 65 millimeters wide. There are remnants of incised lettering, but it is no longer legible.
