Description
Shaft Longroot Farmhouse, now a house, was built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with a triple Roman tile roof, featuring coped verges and end stacks made of rubble. The two-storey and attic farmhouse has three bays, with 16-pane sash windows set within moulded freestone architraves. A 20th-century skylight is present. The central doorway has a stone architrave, a 20th-century glazed door, and a stone slab hood supported by stone console brackets. A 20th-century addition to the left of the front elevation is not of special interest. The farmhouse occupies a prominent roadside position.
