Description
Winchester House, now divided into two dwellings, is believed to date from 1799 based on deeds. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick on a blue lias plinth, featuring wide bracketed eaves and a plain tile roof with end brick stacks. The house has a two-storey, three-bay symmetrical front with 16-pane sash windows, except for the central window, which has 12 panes and is topped with stepped stone voussoirs. The central door opening has a semi-circular head and a fanlight with radiating glazing bars, supported by an open triangular pediment on console brackets. The wing to the right is in a conforming style, with a double Roman tile roof, 12-pane sash windows, and a door opening on the right. The interior retains features from the same period.
