Description
Reaphay is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It features a random rubble facade that is partially roughcast, and has an asbestos slate roof with brick stacks at the gable ends and roughcast to the right of the entrance. The original layout is unclear due to internal changes, but it currently consists of three cells. The building is two storeys high and has five bays, with a mix of late 19th-century wooden four-light casements and early 19th-century three-light leaded iron casements. There are small-light windows with marginal glazing bars inserted to the left of the entrance, which may indicate the location of the original doorway. The entrance is located in the second bay from the left, featuring a 19th-century double Roman tile roofed porch and a plank door. On the right return, there are two small lights in the gable end. Inside, there are remains of a four or six-panel compartment ceiling and a jointed cruck truss roof.
