Description

The road bridge over the stream in Seavington St Mary was built in 1794. It is constructed from near-ashlar ham stone and features a single semi-circular arch. The bridge has low parapets that are one stone high and are held together with iron dog-clamps. The parapets are angled at the south-west corner to accommodate the road junction. This bridge was built by the Ilminster Trust when it was part of the old road, which has since been replaced by the A303.
