Description
The Pheasant Hotel and Restaurant is a detached former farmhouse, likely dating from the 18th century, and subsequently modified. It is constructed of ham stone coursed rubble with a thatched roof between stepped coped gables. Brick chimney stacks are present at the ends and between the bays. The building is two storeys high with three bays. Early-pattern casement windows, predominantly with three lights and rectangular leaded panes, are set within timber lintels. The lower bay one window is a smaller two-light casement. A six-panelled door, complete with toplights, is set within a heavy frame, also under a timber lintel, situated between bays two and three. A north crosswing, likely of later date, features a hipped roof of Welsh slate over stone slate base courses, with matching casement windows. A former two-storey farm building is linked to the main house at the rear via a covered way. The interior has not been inspected. The property was converted into a hotel in 1971.
