Description

The Globe Inn is a 17th-century inn that has been modified over time. It is constructed from roughly cut and squared Ham stone, with ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof featuring stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and four bays. On the ground floor, there are 20th-century mullioned windows made of artificial stone in bays one and two, which contain two and three lights respectively. Bays three and four feature four-light ovolo-mould mullioned windows set in wave-mould recesses with labels. The first floor has 20th-century two-light casement windows under timber lintels. Between bays four and five, there is a single-storey gabled porch, which has a coped roof with a gabletted finial and a semi-circular outer arch, leading to a 19th-century four-panel inner door. There is also a single-storey flat-roofed extension from the 20th century against the west gable. The inn was first mentioned in 1866.
