Description

Little Manor and West Manor are a pair of houses that were formerly part of a manor house. They date back to the 17th century and were remodeled and extended in 1878. The buildings are constructed of ham stone ashlar and near-ashlar, topped with Welsh slate roofs that feature coped gables and stone chimney stacks. The north elevation has a double roof plan and consists of two storeys with five bays, showing a straight joint between bays four and five. The windows are hollow-chamfer mullioned, set in chamfered recesses, with three-light windows in bays two, three, and four on the first floor, and a two-light window in bay one that is deeper and double-transomed, while bay five is blank. Below, there are three-light windows and a 20th-century door in the lower part of bay one. The entrance to West Manor is located in the west gable and features a 19th-century doorway with a beaded architrave and a flat hood supported by console brackets. The south elevation generally matches the north, but Little Manor has a two-storey angled bay window with architraved sash windows. The interiors have not been seen. Originally, the building was an 'L'-plan structure from the 17th century, which was extended eastwards by Manor End, and in 1878, it was extended westwards, filling in the angle.
