Description
Great House Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1596, although the rest of the structure dates from around 1650. It is built from Doulting rubble and features coped verges and a plain tile roof, along with two ashlar stacks with caps. The building has an "L"-shaped plan and stands two and a half storeys tall with five bays. It includes two, three, and four-light stone mullioned windows, most of which are chamfered, although the first bay on the ground floor has an ovolo moulded window. The ground floor openings have stopped labels. There is a central door opening with a chamfered four-centred surround, which contains a 20th-century glazed plank door, sheltered by a 20th-century gabled stone porch. A three-bay return is present on the left side, featuring an attic light. A date plaque on the right gable indicates the year 1596.
